Who we are
Artdex & Cognoscis is a software engineering firm built around the belief that the best outcomes come from small, experienced teams working closely with their clients. We are not an agency in the traditional sense — we are engineers and product thinkers who happen to work independently.
Our work spans financial platforms, analytics products, consumer applications, AI-powered systems, and enterprise software. What connects them is an insistence on doing the engineering properly — choosing the right tools, designing systems that last, and shipping things that actually work in production.
We work with founders who are building their first product, with product teams at established companies who need reliable engineering support, and with businesses facing complex technical problems that need more than a generic solution. In each case, we bring the same depth of involvement.
Our founders have been building software together for over a decade — across different industries, different scales, and different kinds of technical challenges. That breadth of experience informs how we approach each new project: with pattern recognition, architectural clarity, and a bias toward practical, tested approaches.

We engage early, stay close, and see things through.
Most of our engagements begin before the code does — with a discovery conversation to understand your goals, constraints, and the shape of the problem. That investment at the start pays back many times over in avoided missteps and clearer execution.
Once we are building, we operate with a high degree of ownership. We make decisions, flag risks early, and communicate clearly — rather than waiting to be told what to do. The projects that go well are the ones where the engineering team and the business team are genuinely aligned, and we work hard to maintain that alignment throughout.
After delivery, we remain available for ongoing support, evolution, and new phases of work. Many of our client relationships have run for several years — a reflection of the continuity and trust that comes from working well together.

Sagar co-founded Artdex & Cognoscis in 2014 and has led its journey from a two-person venture to a trusted product engineering and software development partner serving enterprises in India and the United States. Over the past decade, he has focused on building software that is reliable, scalable, and grounded in real business needs.
As CEO, he leads client partnerships, product strategy, and delivery, ensuring that projects are shaped by business outcomes, not just technical execution. His legal background brings an added layer of clarity and rigor to his work, helping clients benefit from sharper problem framing, stronger communication, and a more thoughtful approach to complexity, risk, and decision-making. An avid reader, Sagar believes the best software is built by teams that deeply understand the problem they are solving.
Anoop Kajjer
Co-Founder & CTO
B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bangalore
Anoop brings the technical backbone of Artdex & Cognoscis — a Bachelor of Engineering from one of India's most respected technical institutions, B.M.S. College of Engineering, combined with over a decade of hands-on software architecture experience.
As CTO, Anoop sets the engineering standards across all client projects — from system architecture and cloud infrastructure to mobile development and data engineering. His philosophy is simple: choose the right tool for the problem, build it well, and make it maintainable. The teams he builds are known for technical rigour, clean code, and zero-compromise quality assurance.
